I build and sell laptops as a second job, and someone approached me looking for a laptop to play second life on. The requirements are 128MB video card, preferably a 256 or better. The other requirements were so low they weren’t a problem. The only cheap laptop sporting a 256MB video card was an Inspiron 1501. Anybody ever play second life or any other graphics intensive game on one? Will it work ok? Does it perform like a regular 256MB video card or does it suck like integrated graphics? Thanks

It should be ok for that purpose

It will run everything that a regular 256 card can run but it will lag a little more because it used system resources to power the video card, just not memory. Processor speed and such will still be used and it will perform best when run on the AC adapter
