Or where a obese couch potato after weeks of hard work can imagine themselves as a magical elf with a huge wand in World of Warcraft.

This is why I’m in favour of the Wii and other such machines. not only are they more socially geared but the motion sensing devices mean people have to actualyl move! you no longer can beat up that scantily clad ninja with your thumbs alone, you need to duck and swing your imaginary phallic club at the hoe. Excercise is just what the computer game playing generation need, and if we can’t get them to do it out in the real world i guess this is the next best thing.

Sorry to be so cynical, i’m sure there are plenty of socially rounded attractive and normal people that play computer games. We just need to encourage more of those types and do something about the rest to stop them de-volving.

I can see how people would feel more accepted using second life. They can create their “ideal” bodies. Decide who is going to be a friend, be a stripper or a casino owner which is something they would probably never do in real life.. and wear the clothes of their dreams..! Yes I think that people on second life can avoid their real lives because of this because even though the clothes, the casino and the bodies arent theirs…the human interaction is very real and if they get more positive vibe from second life interaction than real life interaction, odds are they will be online more than offline.
